CONLEY
Anthony is a stylistically versatile designer and illustrator with over 21 years of experience in creative development, illustration, and gaming art.
In his former role as Senior Art Director of Character Art and Illustrations for Nickelodeon’s Global Creative Group, he lead a team of artists in the development of assets to support popular intellectual properties for off channel use. His artwork can be seen throughout the retail world for top tier kids brands and IP.
Anthony currently resides in Paris France with his wife, Elizabeth and daughter, Olivia, where he is a full time creative development artist and Illustrator. In his free time, he enjoys traveling with his family, cooking and playing hours of Classic Tetris.
Questions for the Illustrator:
What did you do to help make Rabbit, Worm and the Giant Carrot come alive? I reached into my refrigerator, grabbed some carrots to munch on so I could get into the mindset of a Rabbit and started sketching!
What is your favorite Rabbit, Worm and the Giant Carrot character and why?
My favorite character is worm. I share worms philosophy that you can tackle a huge task in a smart way and have great results. Muscle power is great but so is brain power!
Did you always know you were going to be an illustrator? Actually yes, I always knew I would be an artist from the moment I made my first drawing in Kindergarten. It was of the American flag and my teacher pinned it on the bulletin board. I liked creating something visual for people to enjoy and admire so I ran with it!
What do you do for fun? I love crafting with my daughter Olivia and traveling to new places with my family. One of the most fun places we’ve visited is Iceland!
What’s the hardest thing you did as a kid?
Hmm, that’s a tough question! I guess helping my parents with cleaning out our storage filled garage was always a tough task. But I’d get a bowl of Rocky Road ice cream as a reward, which made it all worth it.
What are other cool things you do besides illustrating? Besides illustrating, I’m also a pretty good cook. Mexican food is my favorite type of food to make.
What is your favorite part of the book?
I love the part when sheep is getting sheered by Farmer and Rabbit comes to ask for help and Sheep is like, “let’s do this” while only half sheered! 😂
What is your favorite flavor of ice cream?
Rocky Road, hands down!
If you had a pet armadillo and beaver what would their names be? For some reason, armadillos remind me of Texas so I suppose I’d name it Tex! And I’d name my pet beaver, Pluto.
What video games do you have a high-score in? I am the Tetris king! I’ll just leave it at that!
Who are some people you think are amazing?
People that follow their dreams and ambitions no matter how big or crazy they are, are amazing!
Have you ever seen an alien or Sasquatch? Wow, funny you should ask that. I’m actually an alien disguised as a Sasquatch!
